Aceally Radio Shuttle Racking System

All the specifications for the project can be viewed as part of the proposal document, located in the files section of the website. Close  ties to the project requirements were kept throughout the project so that the design would be satisfactory to the client. Our primary objective was to design and manufacture a radio shuttle which carried out the basic requirements of being able to hoist a pallet from the racking shelves and transport it to the entrance for extraction or deliver a pallet to the shelves.

The development of the prototype can be summarised in three categories; Concept & Design, Manufacture, and Testing & Re-Design. Relevant information on each stage can be found by selecting the appropriate strip beneath. A brief overview of the final prototype is also included.

Final Prototype

For our Erasmus exchange we were tasked with designing and manufacturing a prototype radio shuttle for storage warehouse operations. With guidance from our supervisor, Dr Sierra Velasco (who also acted as the client for the purpose of the project), our prototype was finished and successfully tested, adhering to the required specifications.  If you are unclear what a radio shuttle is or how it operates, the video below provides a clear demonstration.
